Your age-related points are officially locked the day you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), rather than when you submit your Expression of Interest (EOI). If your age bracket drops to a lower score range while waiting in the SkillSelect queue, your total profile points will adjust downward automatically.
Can I claim points for both international and local Australian work experience?
Yes, you can claim points for both categories at the same time. Every period of employment must be fully verified, paid, require a minimum of 20 hours per week, and align with your nominated occupation code. The maximum combined points you can get for work experience across both categories is capped at 20 points.
How can a spouse or partner increase my total points score?
A partner can add value to your application profile: you can secure 10 points if they have a positive skills assessment and competent English; 5 points if they have competent English without a skills assessment; or 10 points automatically if you apply as a single applicant.
